Sectnids
Sectnids are intelligent insect-like beings of varying degrees of evolution and societal advancement. Being born from the birth-spore of incredibly vast space-dwelling creatures known as the Sectnid Queens, the more intelligent Sectnids are driven by an undeniable urge to take to the stars in search of their creators, and to protect them above all else as they drift slowly through the void from one star system to the next, which inevitably leads to conflict. In battle, Sectnids use conventional weaponry along side the natural armament of their lesser evolved, and often massive kindred.
